One of our library assistants, Julie Garner, has recently completed Aquinas College’s Adult Centre course Creative Writing, and has written a great review of her time taking part on the programme.

“I would wholeheartedly recommend the Creative Writing Course which has been running on a Monday evening 7pm-9pm, run by the charismatic Suzanne Downes, who is herself a published author of crime fiction. Some of the themes we covered were : how to create believable characters, building tension, background, dialogue, tackling research and poetry. The course has given me the confidence and encouragement to write and to read different genres. I have enjoyed writing and sharing my ideas with other students and rediscovering the pleasure of producing written work.”
