Into the darkness

By Sibel Hodge

Inspired by the author’s research into the dark web and the possible existence of red rooms “Into the darkness” is indeed dark. The novel is narrated by three characters, The Missing, The Detective and The Vigilante.

‘The Missing’ is Toni, a psychology and criminology student who stumbles across a dark web site where people can pay-to-view the torture and killing of people live. Abducted on her way to inform the police of her discovery, she wakes to find herself in a darkened cell.

‘The Detective’ is DS Warren Carter, world weary and looking forward to a career change for a simpler life. His investigation into a seemingly senseless double murder leads him down an increasingly dark path as he uncovers a crime more twisted than he had imagined.

‘The Vigilante’ is Mitchell, an ex SAS man, to whom Toni’s mother turns to help find her missing daughter. The race begins to bring out Toni alive and safe. Mitchell is not constrained to follow the rules of the law, all that matters is saving Toni.

It is a hard-hitting punchy read, keeping you engaged to discover if ‘who dares wins!’
